Temporary Crisis Home for Abandoned Children and Homeless Pregnant Women and Girls, Pasig City, Philippines.

Barangay Palatiw in Pasig City, Philippines is the hometown of Myla Bicol, the founder of Alexa Mira Society (AMSI). Living here as a child, Myla vowed to make a difference in her community through AMSI. Some parts of Palatiw are still underdeveloped, and these places include shanties and makeshift homes.

When Myla Bicol created Alexa Mira Society, she had one thing in mind: to help abandoned kids who were neglected due to poverty. Myla asked the Builders Without Borders Foundation for help in her dreamed venture.

The goal of Alexa Mira Society is to establish a temporary home for pregnant women and girls who are in crisis situation and are in need comprehensive care. This will also be a safe haven for the abandoned, neglected and surrendered children due to poverty. The home would serve as a sanctuary and place for the community wherein they would be nurtured, supported, and provided their needs before they are ready to fully engage with the world beyond. Staying true to the slogan of Alexa Mira Society—to give, love, and inspire are its foundations.
